BIOGRAPHY

Lindsay Allen is a historian working at the intersection of texts, narrative and material culture. Her major long-term project investigates the dispersal of fragments from Persepolis and she is involved in the recontextualization of architectural fragments in multiple collections internationally. Her work also supplied the information which enabled the restitution to Iran of a looted sculptural fragment from Persepolis in 2018. She has a strong track record of public engagement, has run popular topical blogs and social media accounts, and is also a member of the Classical Association’s Council and has served for many years on the steering committee of the London Centre for the Ancient Near East.
