Applications for BIPS January research and travel grants are open

BIPS is inviting grant applications for the January Research Round.

To qualify for a research grant, applicants must have been awarded a PhD and currently hold a research active position at a UK Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs). HEIs are usually universities but may also be museums or similar. Research grants usually range in size from £1,000 to £6,000. Research grants are given for a range of purposes including fieldwork, archival research and the organisation of conferences, where there is an intended academic publication output.

To qualify for a travel grant, applicants must be currently enrolled as a student (undergraduate or post-graduate, including doctoral candidates) at a UK HEI. The number of travel grants awarded are small, and they are limited in amount to £1,200. Travel grants are normally awarded to assist with the costs of travel to Iran/the Persianate world. However, BIPS may make awards for travel to other countries.

Applications should be submitted for consideration by Sunday, 17th January 2021.
