About the Master’s Dissertation Award
The BIPS Master’s Dissertation Award recognizes the achievement of outstanding work on a Master’s dissertation in the field of Persian Studies or a closely related subject.
This award, with a total value of £500, will be granted to either a single recpient or shared among multiple recipients. Awardees will also receive one year of free BIPS Student Membership, which includes access to the IRAN Journal, exclusive events, grant opportunities, and the latest news in the field of Persian Studies.

Eligibility
To be eligible, dissertations must be marked and passed in the academic year preceding the opening of the call, which is normally in November. Dissertations must have been submitted to a UK-based university.
Supporting Documents
All applicants are requested to submit the following documents:
- Declaration of Interest form to be completed and submitted by the applicant;
- Supervisor Form to be completed and returned by the supervisor;
- Electronic copy of the dissertation
Please note that ALL supporting documentation needs to be submitted together with forms by the closing date of the call.
Process and Reporting
The award is conditional to the submission of a) the final graduation certificate attesting that the student has graduated, b) the final transcript showing the mark for the dissertation.
The award will be transferred to the recipient’s UK bank account. BIPS aims to transfer the award by the end of the financial year (31 March) during which the prize has been awarded.
Recipients of the award might be invited to present their research either a BIPS Webinar or a BIPS Grantees’ Workshop.
