An evening of Persian poetry, which forms a part of Parasol unit’s exhibition: The Spark Is You

Parasol unit foundation for contemporary art in conjunction with Narguess Farzad at SOAS have organised an evening of Persian poetry, which forms a part of Parasol unit’s exhibition: The Spark Is You.

The event, ‘Intimations of Immortality: an Evening of Persian Poetry,’ will include a look at the pre-Islamic and Zoroastrian genesis of motifs that inform Persian poetic expressions, conversations on poetic inspiration, and a selection of contemporary and classical poetry, recited in Persian, and in English translation.

Speakers include Dr Sarah Stewart and Bruce Wannell

The evening is hosted by the Centre for Iranian Studies at SOAS, the British Institute of Persian Studies, and the SOAS Shapoorji Pallonji Institute of Zoroastrian Studies.

The event will be held at the Khalili Lecture Theatre at SOAS beginning at 6:30pm and will be followed by a reception.

The evening is free to attend. However, due to limited seating, a booking is required.
