Modern Iranian Art and Architecture in the Shadow of the Classical Persian Past

A two-day conference on Persian and Iranian art will take place on 17-18 May 2018 at the John Rylands Library, hosted by the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures at the University of Manchester.

The conference will bring together scholars from both the historical and contemporary fields to discuss certain issues which run across their respective subjects. Scholars from Iran and elsewhere are being invited to attend the conference. Keynote speakers will include Professor Robert Hillenbrand, Professor Paul Luft, Dr Hamid Keshmirshekan. For more details please see the University of Manchester.

The conference is open to members of the public, but they must register with the convener, Dr Aida Foroutan, by email to aida.foroutan@manchester.ac.uk

The conference is supported by BIPS through our research grants programme. Research grant applications from post-doctoral scholars attached to UK HEIs are invited twice a year, in late April and late October. Please see here for more details.
