British Institute of Persian Studies

The British Institute of Persian Studies (BIPS) is a self-governing membership organisation and is one of the British International Research Institutes financially supported by the British Academy. Through its office in London and purpose-built institute in Tehran, BIPS promotes and supports scholarship and research on all aspects of Iran and the wider Persianate world, and increases public understanding and knowledge of this region. BIPS was founded in the UK in 1961 and opened its Tehran institute in 1976. For more information about BIPS, please see here.
