In November 2021, BIPS held elections to fill four vacancies on its Governing Council. There were six candidates and voting took place online.

The four elected members to the Governing Council are:

Dr Sarah Stewart – SOAS University of London

Professor Andrew Peacock – University of St Andrews

Dr Cameron Petrie – University of Cambridge

Dr Lindsay Allen – Kings College London

The results were officially announced during last year’s Annual General Meeting on 6 December 2021 and these members will serve on the Council until the Annual General Meeting in 2024.

In addition to the elected members, Dr Florian Schwartz (Institute of Iranian Studies, Austrian Academy of Science) joined the Council as co-opted member.

We wish them all the best for their terms at the British Institute of Persian Studies.
